Roadside Facility Crew Leader

Role and Responsibilities:

Follow all policies outlined in the Northwoods Personnel Policy Manual, and all other published Northwoods, Rest Area Maintenance, and Dept. of transportation (DOT) policies and procedures. Treat others with respect and courtesy at all times. Safely transport Roadside Facilities Maintenance crews as necessary using Northwoods vehicles. Maintain a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and good driving record. Obey all traffic and Northwoods transportation regulations. Transport staff, using Northwoods vehicles, as necessary during all weather conditions, summer and winter including inclement weather. Oversee the work of others. Work with staff to assure all duties are completed in a timely fashion and according to established processes. Enforce Northwoods, Disability Service Provider Network, & WI DOT policies and regulations to employees. Responsible to oversee cleaning regimes. Complete all required trainings/seminars. Communicate with supervisors and employees on safety issues, ensure that everyone is working in a safe manner. Represent Northwoods through appropriate public relations with roadside facility visitors. Garden, weed, mow, trim, and plant in Spring and Summer. Remove snow and ice in Winter. Keep accurate records, as delegated by Site Supervisor and/or Site Manager.

Preferred Abilities and Skills:

Well organized. Accurate and attentive to detail. Excellent communication and public relations skills. Ability to give direction to workers in a calm, clear manner. Ability to apply the rehabilitation plans to other’s daily work. Ability to assist and support others, including adults with disabilities.

Physical Requirements: This is a physical job, which requires the employee to be physically active all day, including frequent bending, reaching, walking, standing, and lifting 60 pounds infrequently and 25 pounds frequently. Ability to tolerate inside and outside conditions from daily work, including shoveling snow in the winter.

Other Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age or older. Ability to pass an extensive background check.
