This FREE presentation brings the more than 350-year-old history of the Portage area to life. The Fox-Wisconsin Rivers, a part of the Mississippi watershed, were a crucial thoroughfare in the 1600's and greatly impacted the settlement of Portage and Wisconsin as a state in 1848.
n addition, this presentation highlights a special log cabin, now referred to as Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters and owned by WSDAR, which has truly been a 'witness to history' for over 210 years.
This unique program will be given by Sandra Snow, Honorary State Regent of the Wisconsin Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Reservations are not necessary, but please come and bring a friend to hear this important story of Portage and Wisconsin history.
