DESCRIPTION:An organizational meeting for muses (poets and writers) Portage Public Library\, 253 West Edgewater Street\, Portage Thursday June 16\, 2016\n\n6:00 - 6:30 registration and social\n\n6:30 - 7:30 meeting\n\nOpen to people interested in supporting poetry and poets in the Portage Area. ie: people who enjoy reading\, reciting\, listening\, writing\, critiquing poetry.\n\nGuest Speaker - Jacqueline Martindale\, Wisconsin Coordinator for Poetry Out Loud.\n\n\n\nThe Portage Area Muse Project is a group of people to focus on building up the benefits of poetry in the portage area. We have a desire to support the Poetry Out Loud Project which is a national organization that promotes poetry and the recitation of classic poetry for High School Students - that program also offers scholarships to students.  Poetry can be very healing and productive in handling stress and giving voice to thoughts\, feelings\, emotions\, and dealing with stress\, dreams\, hopes and adventure.   We have a goal to promote Poetry Out Loud in our schools.
