DESCRIPTION:Annual Living History Reenactment "Peril at the Portage\, an 1830s Melodrama"\n\n \n\nSaturday September 16\n\nMelodramas at 11am and 2:30pm\n\nAgency House Tours from 9:30am to 4pm\n\n \n\nAnnual living history reenactment\, "Peril at the Portage\, an 1830s Melodrama"\, will entertain and educate guests on how settlers on the frontier may have spent their free time\, from demonstrating bare knuckle fighting\, to at-home musicals and theatre\, to discussing the importance of reading out loud as entertainment\, and finally the history of popcorn with a live demonstration on how it would have been popped in the 1830s. \n\n\n\nThis event is an "outdoor theater hike" where the audience will move from scene to scene and is encouraged to bring their own blanket or chair. \n\n\n\nMelodramas will take place at 11am and 2:30pm\, with House tours from 9:30-11\, 1-2:30pm. \n\n \n\nFor more information\, please call 608-742-6362\, or email historicindianagencyhouse@gmail.com.
