Do you wish to have a safe place to share your feelings of grief and loss in a supportive environment with others who have experienced loss? On Thursday\, January 25th we have a new Griefshare Support Group starting at the Portage United Methodist Church. This support group is for anyone who has suffered a loss in their life\, whether it be something recent or a loss that happened some time ago. Meetings are weekly\, in a support group format\, every Thursday from 2-4 pm from January 25th - April 19th (note we are off on Thursday\, March 29th in observance of Maudy Thursday). These meetings are open ended\, which means you can join at any time - you won't miss a thing! This session will lead by a former minister and will be co-facilitated by the Christian Education Director\, both of whom have participated in the program previously. The meeting will consist of DVD presentations\, workbooks with short daily reading assignments\, and group discussion about the DVD and Workbook content. The cost to attend this support group is free\, with a $20.00 charge for the workbook. Scholarships are available for those experiencing financial hardship at this time.
