SUMMARY:Fiber Artists Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception-Free & open to the public! October 2\, 2015 from 4-6pm meet the artists and join us for refreshments and music! Show runs until October 31\, 2015. In Salvage/Selvage\, members of the Fiber Artists Coalition have combined these notions and embraced the challenge to create fiber artwork using non-traditional materials. No other directives were supplied. The individual works use a variety of materials\, surface design\, and stitching techniques to create unique explorations in fiber art. The intent and skill of the individual artists are what make these artworks provocative and stimulating. The questions of material\, value\, worthiness\, and art\, all provide fodder as we feast our eyes on something new created from something old or discarded. Fiber Artists Coalition is an affiliation of textile artists from the upper Midwest who collaborate in securing opportunities for work to be exhibited in venues throughout the US.
