SUMMARY:"Doors" by Susan Zeder
DESCRIPTION:"Doors" by Susan Zeder is directed by Dr. Xan Johnson\, with performances on September 7\, 8\, 9 and 14\, 15\, 16\, Friday & Saturday at 7:30p and Sunday at 2p at Portage Center for the Arts\, 301 E. Cook Street\, Portage\, in our Zona Gale Theatre. Tickets are Adults/$10 & Students/$6.\n\nThis emotional\, yet humorous work touches the life of most every child today. This nationally award-winning script has been widely produced on stage and is also used as a book in the classroom as a way to inform and "open doors" to sensitivity and understanding. Jeff\, age 11\, copes with his parents' impending divorce. It is the very day of his parents' separation. Before Jeff can deal with it\, he must face and play out his fears and his fantasies with his best friend\, Sandy. More than anything the play is about the importance of talking and listening. Once the unspoken is finally out in\n\nthe open\, the whole family can begin to heal. Portage Center for the Arts\, 301 East Cook Street\, Portage\, WI 53901\, 608-742-5655. Open Wed-Fri 1-6\, Sat 10-3. portagecenterforthearts@frontier.com\, http://www.Portagecenterforthearts.com
