DESCRIPTION:The Important Bird Areas (IBA) Program is an international effort to identify\, protect\, and manage sites that contain critical habitats for birds. The 15\,000 acre Leopold-Pine Island Important Bird Area (LPI-IBA) is a mosaic of marsh\, grassland\, barrens\, floodplain and upland hardwood forest\, and agricultural land that hosts 108 species of breeding birds\, including 25 Species of Greatest Conservation Need.  Come meet Jen Simoni\, who organizes the Aldo Leopold Foundation's Woodland School Series and coordinated the citizen science monitoring project on the IBA.
